Dr. Karen Joanson-Scott (aka “Dr. Karen” or “Dr. K”) moved to Atlanta in 1993 after completing her BS in Psychology at SUNY- Oneonta. She graduated from Life University in 1997 and opened up her office in Buckhead in 1998. Dr. Karen is a member of the International Chiropractic Association (ICA) and World Chiropractic Association (WCA).
In addition to providing the best chiropractic care in Buckhead, Dr. Karen is very active in her community. She is certified by the Red Cross as an instructor for both CPR and AED. She was extremely involved in the Avon 3-Day Walk for Breast Cancer for 3 years beginning as a crew member and then serving as chiropractic and medical crew manager. She was also a chiropractor for 1999 Georgia Brag Ride, which is a bike ride across Georgia.
Dr. Karen has also branched out to providing chiropractic services for the entertainment industry. She provides backstage chiropractic services at venues such as Chastain Park , Phillips Arena, and the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Some of the people in the music industry adjusted by Dr. K are: performers on the Lillith Fair tour, the bassist for Sheryl Crow, Clay Aiken and the other 2003 American Idols, Hall & Oates, and Michael McDonald. Most recently Dr. Karen provided chiropractic services for the movie “Diary of a Mad Black Woman” whose cast includes Steve Harris from “The Practice”. |
